Mr Grant, Please Be Gentle

Chapter 1584 : Premeditated, Unexpected

Matthew Grant led his daughter-in-law to the small dining table and sat down. Two food boxes were already there, this time he had ordered someone to pick them up from home.

Matthew Grant laid out the dishes, there were sesame tofu, braised hoof tendons, shredded potatoes, white cut chicken, and most of all… carp soup.

Blanca Roach wanted to stand up just as she sat down; the dish caused her sensory discomfort, but she was inclined to drink it without throwing up.

“Matthew Grant, you let your aunt make it on purpose, didn’t you?”

“Seems so.”

Obviously!

Blanca Roach didn’t want to eat it and avoided Matthew Grant’s spoon like a picky eater.

“Good boy, you drink the soup and I’ll answer the question you just asked.”

Bullying works so well with Blanca Roach that Matthew Grant can do it almost every day.

Blanca Roach dutifully opened her mouth to take a sip, then stopped drinking when she was fed again, then looked at Matthew Grant with pleading eyes, and she wouldn’t drink until he said so.

“I want to take you to the fireworks show.”

Blanca Roach opened her mouth and took another large sip, “What does that have to do with professional riders?”

Matthew Grant smoothly fed Blanca Roach spoonful after spoonful, “There aren’t too many surprises when you say it.”

“Okay.”

Half the bowl of carp soup had already been consumed, and the rest of those were no problem for Blanca Roach.

“What is Charles White doing here?” Blanca Roach was holding out hope that it was Charles White who had come to talk to Matthew Grant about his work and to speak to Winnie in the meantime.

But Matthew Grant’s answer made her face change again and again, “He came by?”

“Yeah, he just went to see Winnie.”Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

Speaking of which, Blanca Roach was so angry she couldn’t eat.

She was a cynic who would take an absolute stand when it came to such things, and would not sway herself because the wrongdoer was a friend.

“So that’s Charles White coming to Winnie on purpose, does he have no heart? Selina gives him children and then he turns his head to another woman.”

“Don’t be angry, eat.”

Matthew Grant wipes the soup from Blanca Roach’s mouth.

Blanca Roach grabbed his wrist with a serious expression, unadulterated by a hint of joking.

“Matthew Grant, if Charles White really doesn’t want Selina anymore, let’s cut him off, okay?”

“Okay.” Matthew Grant agreed readily.

Blanca Roach thought he might think he was joking, “I mean it.”

“I’m serious too. If Charles White does go out with Winnie, I’ll give my shares to Jim Grant and I won’t start a company with him.”

“Forget it, it would be better to give it to Jim Grant …”

… is better than giving it to a dog.

The latter half of the sentence Blanca Roach did not say, after all, is Matthew Grant’s cousin.

“Well, don’t think about him.”

Matthew Grant’s human-shaped feeding machine came online and helped Blanca Roach pick the bones off the meat and feed them to Blanca Roach.

Matthew Grant spent the rest of the meal serving Blanca Roach, and watching his wife eat sweetly, Matthew Grant was more satisfied than if he had eaten himself.

“The phone’s ringing.” Blanca Roach pointed to the phone on her desk, “You have oil in your hand, I’ll get it for you.”

Blanca Roach, full and happy as a lamb, jumped over to get the phone.

“It’s Curtis Irwin.”

The phone was connected and placed in his ear. Blanca Roach could faintly hear Curtis Irwin’s voice.

“President White is in the hospital from a car accident.”

Matthew Grant calmly wiped his hands, met Blanca Roach’s shocked gaze, and gave her small hand a reassuring squeeze as he took the phone.

He got up and walked a long way out before asking, “What exactly is the situation?”

“It was all expected and there were unexpected missteps and scrapes, except for President White, everyone is fine.”

This heroic rescue plot is Charles White’s own idea, he needs to use it to substitute a reason to approach Winnie.
