The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 513

On a summer day, the market was bustling. As soon as Matthew entered, he saw at least a dozen trucks, each loaded with watermelons.

As he walked further in, the meat and vegetable stalls came into view. A lot of people were buying groceries, mostly women and old people. Young people were less common here.

Caleb scratched his head and asked, "How do we start looking?"

Matthew didn't have a plan either. "We'll just have to check every place one by one."

With so few leads, it was hard to know where to start. All they could do now was to search for Eastorians.

Matthew stopped at a fish stall. "Do you have any salmon here?"

The fish vendor was in his 40s. Dressed in sandals, loose shorts, and a vest, he was already sweating a lot early in the morning. Spotting Matthew eyeing the fish, the vendor knew business was coming.

Smiling, the vendor handed over a cigarette. "Here. Have a smoke. Are you looking to make fish tartare? You've come to the right place. We've got salmon, rainbow trout, tuna, and snapper. All of them are perfect for tartare."

Matthew didn't normally smoke, but he still took a cigarette. Accepting the cigarette was a sign he planned to buy the fish, so the vendor would be extra welcoming.

Seeing the boss reaching out with a lighter, Matthew put the cigarette between his lips and leaned closer.

"Thanks. I've got a quick question. I heard Eastorians are quite particular about tartare. What kind of fish do they usually pick when they buy it from you?"

The fish vendor pointed at some tuna. "Most of them use this for tartare, but some go for salmon because it's a better bang for your buck."noveldrama

Matthew smiled. "Do you get a bunch of Eastorians coming here to buy fish?"

With a hint of pride, the vendor replied, "Of course. There are two Eastorian restaurants on the food street. Besides big clients like them, we often have Eastorians who around here drop by..."

Matthew hung out and talked for half an hour, but he didn't uncover anything useful. Right before Matthew left, he bought himself two fish.

After they walked away from the fish stall, Matthew asked Caleb, "Did you leave a ring behind?"

Caleb chuckled and responded, "I sure did. I stuck it in a hidden spot with some gum."

As they kept walking onward, Caleb would leave a ring at any dodgy spots they found.

They had started searching in the morning. By the time the sun was setting, they'd only gone through half the market and had gotten no leads.

Caleb exclaimed, "If Sebastian was here, we might be making progress. I tried calling him this morning but he's been unreachable since yesterday when we agreed to search together."

Had Sebastian's phone been off the whole time? Matthew suddenly had a bad feeling. Did the Red Wolves find out about the card room and go after Sebastian?

Thinking about this, Matthew knew he couldn't waste any more time searching with Caleb.

"You stay and keep looking. If you find anything, don't act rashly. You've got to tell me first."

Caleb was reluctant to see Matthew go, but he didn't dare to bring it up. So, he just watched Matthew walk away with a sigh.

When Matthew came back to his car, he spotted two cars parked behind it. Leo and Lucien were in the first car. The second car had Trevor in it.

Trevor came up to Matthew first and greeted him. "Mr. Grant." Feeling puzzled, Matthew asked, "How come you're here?"

Trevor explained, "I know Leo, Dominic, and Lucien can be pretty arrogant because they have solid backgrounds. So, I'm worried that they won't play along nicely with you dropped by just for this reason. Feel free to give me any order."

After Trevor was done talking, Leo walked over and said with respect, "We're back again, Mr. Grant. I know we're not much help, but don't underestimate us. We can handle stuff like disposing of bodies and cleaning the scene.

"You worry about taking them down, and we'll be your dedicated cleanup crew.

We promise to clean the scene without leaving any trace and not get in your way."

Leo's attitude was as humble as they got.

Upon hearing Leo's words, Trevor was stupefied. Did Trevor hear that right? Leo came from a military family but actually called himself a cleaner. Was he still the same Leo,

who always had his nose in the air?
