The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 824

Tony picked up his phone for the third time, but this time was different. He had a glimmer of hope in his eyes.

Darius Carling, the youngest sibling, had a natural talent for medicine. He remembered everything so well that one lesson was all it took.

On the contrary, the other siblings had trouble remembering things. One ended up learning chiropractic and massage, while the other studied acupuncture.

Only Darius managed to learn half of Tony's skills. If he hadn't gone abroad, he'd be carrying on the family craft.

That was why Tony had hopes for Darius. After dialing the number, he put the phone to his ear and waited.

Fields Pharmaceuticals was located in Klurgh, Eastoria. In the office, Darius looked at Karina Fields with a long face.noveldrama

With her sweet looks, white blouse, and tight skirt, Karina was gorgeous. Her figure seemed almost too much for the outfit.

At this moment, Karina stood beside Darius and giggled. "The formula you gave us has hit mass production. Can't wait to see you keep at it and come up with even more amazing ones."

Darius nodded. "I'll work hard on my research. It's been ages since I've gone back home. I'd like to go back and see my dad."

Smiling, Karina responded, "I'd love to go home with you, but you know my uncle. If you don't give Vital Restorative Remedies to him, he won't let you go back."

Fuming, Darius replied, "How many times have I told him? I don't have that book. I even asked my dad, and he said Uncle Tony has it, but Uncle Tony has lost his mind. What am I supposed to do?"

Karina asked with a grin, "Do you think Mr. Tony is just pretending to be crazy?"

Was it all an act?

Darius shook his head. "He was driven mad because he couldn't practice medicine. Why would he fake it?"

Just then, Darius' phone started ringing. After pulling it out, he glanced at it before turning to Karina. "My dad's calling."

Karina cheerfully added, "Quickly pick up the call. While you're at it, ask if Mr. Tony is back to his senses."

Darius nodded and hit the answer button. "Dad."

Upon hearing "Dad", Tony felt an unexpected pang of sadness. He knew that was

just how Darius normally greeted Ryan over the phone, but it still warmed his heart. Unlike Marilyn and Benson, Darius was a little more proper as he started with a polite greeting.

Tony was emotional as he responded, "Hi, Darius. It's me."

Darius was momentarily taken aback, then exclaimed, "Are you better now, Uncle Tony?"

Hearing the surprise in Darius' voice, Tony felt gratified. "Yes. I'm back to my old self."

Darius put his hand over the phone and turned to Karina. "Uncle Tony has snapped out of it. We have a chance to get Vital Restorative Remedies."

Karina excitedly grabbed Darius' hand. "This is our chance! After getting that medical book, you'll be a hero to Fields Pharmaceuticals. Even my uncle will have to show you respect."

Darius nodded, then continued his conversation with Tony. "You're healthy again, Uncle Tony. This is amazing. I'm heading home to see you right now."

Tony felt a warm feeling wash over him. Among the young Carlings, he adored Darius the most. He was the one he had planned to pass down his legacy to as well.

Tony was glad that Darius still treated him with respect and familiarity. "Okay. It's good you're coming back, but there's something I need to tell you. It might hit you hard, so be prepared."

Darius felt a jolt of anxiety. Could Vital Restorative Remedies have gone missing?

He felt like he had just made it to the top of the mountain, only to slip and fall right off a cliff.

After drawing a deep breath, Darius responded, "I-I can take it, Uncle Tony. Tell me."

Tony said as gently as he could, "Your father is no longer with us." Did Jay pass away?

An old, rusty chord within Darius was struck. It thrummed to life with a harsh, raspy tone.

With all these years working in Eastoria, Darius hadn't been back for a while. Even the word "Dad" felt almost foreign now, like a distant memory.

Jay had left this world, but Darius didn't feel the pain or heartbreak he thought he would. Instead, it was just a faint sense of sorrow and guilt.

A blurry image came to Darius' mind—a childhood memory of being held by Jay. However, Jay's face was hard to make out. Perhaps the memory was too long ago and buried in dust.
